Durasteel® Hinged and Sliding Fire Doors

Overview of Durasteel® Hinged and Sliding Fire Doors

MRC Group is proud to supply, deliver and install Promats Durasteel® hinged and sliding fire door systems. The Durasteel® fire door systems offer up to 4 hour fire resistance tested to 3 metres high for hinged fire doors and 5 metres high for sliding fire doors. The fire doors are dimensional stability with exceptional moisture resistance as well as being able to meet specified fire, acoustic, wind load, impact and blast performance requirements.

Single & double leaf arrangements are available.

Design Considerations Durasteel® Hinged and Sliding Fire Doors

Durasteel® DD 120 / 240 Hinged Fire Doors

Promat has conducted extensive fire resistance tests on a range of sizes and configurations of hinged steel door sets. The independent certification of these products ensures that

the door set will prevent the spread of fire from one compartment to another, reducing loss of property and ensuring safe emergency escape for personnel. The DD range of hinged products are certified to BS 476: Part 22: 1987 for up to 240 minutes integrity and to SOLAS and IMO standards.

The range covers single and double leaf constructions for internal and external uses. The unique design of the Durasteel® DD products enables great flexibility in manufacture, allowing almost any shape or size to be produced.

All such considerations need to be discussed with the project Fire Engineer.

Durasteel® DD 240 Sliding Fire Doors

The Durasteel® DD 240 Slider has its principal application as movable sections of a Durasteel® fire protection system. The Durasteel® DD 240 Sliders are certified to

BS 476: Part 22: 1987 for up to 240 minutes integrity and are ideally suited to medium and heavy duty industrial situations in power generation and industrial buildings.

One of the main benefits of these sliding doors is that they can be produced to much larger dimensions than conventional hinged door sets, offering access to large plant and machinery etc, whilst retaining the specified fire performance of the compartment wall. These door sets can be designed to incorporate a wicket door for personnel access.

The unique design of the Durasteel® DD 240 slider enables manufacture of a variety of configurations for both horizontal and vertical sliding in single and double leaf constructions.

The Durasteel® DD 240 Slider door range is supplied with a counterbalance system to ensure a controlled closure. If required, fusible links and electro-magnetic devices can be incorporated in the design to provide fail-safe Durasteel® DD 240 Slider operation.

All such considerations need to be discussed with the project Fire Engineer.
